65 Red Roses Initiative - Awareness Fundraiser
with Georgia Mort
May is not just about the cooler autumn weather; it's also a time to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis(CF), a genetic disorder that affects thousands of people worldwide. As someone living with CF, Georgia is passionate about spreading awareness and rallying support for this condition that impacts individuals and families in profound ways.
What is Cystic Fibrosis?
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. While advancements in treatment have significantly improved the quality of life and life expectancy for individuals with CF, it remains a challenging condition to manage. The life expectancy for someone with CF has increased over the years, with many individuals now living well into their 30s, 40s, and beyond. However, it's crucial to note that CF affects each person differently, and some may experience more severe symptoms and complications than others.
Raising Awareness Through Action:
This May, I am calling on everyone to join me in raising awareness for cystic fibrosis and supporting the CF community.
One way to get involved is by participating in a 65 minute yoga class at WITHIN where all proceeds from this 65 minute Vinyasa Flow class will go to Cystic Fibrosis Community Care, who provide practical support, advocacy and information to those living with Cystic Fibrosis.
